French American Foundation

***** 11th Translation Prize *****

The French-American Foundation is now seeking submissions for its eleventh Translation Prize. This prize, which carries a $2,500 award, will be presented to the translator for the best translation of a prose work from French to English.

Translations for consideration must either have been published or have a scheduled publication date in the United States between January 1 and December 31, 1997. All categories of prose work will be eligible with the exception of poetry, technical, scientific and reference works, and children’s literature.

The publisher must submit books or galleys in duplicate and accompanied by the French original work by Tuesday, July 15, 1997. The award, presented to the translator, will be announced in late October 1997.
